IP ratings (Ingress Protection) are an international standard used to indicate how well a product is protected against dust, moisture, and water. In the case of waterproof bags, the IP rating helps clearly define the conditions and level of water exposure a specific model can safely withstand.

At Zulupack®, waterproof performance and reliable protection play a key role in product development. That is why every model includes a precise IP rating, helping you choose the waterproof bag, dry bag, or backpack that best suits your intended use.

IP Ratings Explained

• IP61 – Protected against vertically dripping water
• IP62 – Protected against dripping water when tilted
• IP63 – Protected against rain and spraying water
• IP64 – Protected against splashing water from all directions
• IP65 – Protected against low-pressure water jets from all directions
• IP66 – Protected against powerful water jets and temporary heavy water exposure
• IP67 – Protected against temporary immersion in water up to 1 meter deep
• IP68 – Designed for prolonged underwater use, up to 3 meters deep

What does this mean in practice?

A higher IP rating means greater waterproof performance and enhanced protection, even in demanding environments.

• IP65–IP66 bags are excellent choices for boating, SUP, kayaking, or motorcycle touring.

Why is choosing the right IP rating important?

Not all “waterproof” bags offer the same level of protection. In many cases, terms such as water resistant simply mean protection against light moisture or minor splashes.

When developing Zulupack® bags, our goal goes beyond basic splash resistance — we design products specifically for real outdoor and marine environments. When is a zipper bag more practical?

The biggest advantage of zipper-closure bags is quick access and convenient organization. They are especially practical for:

• carrying laptops or documents,
• or situations where frequent access to the bag’s contents is important.

Traditional zipper bags generally offer lower waterproof performance than properly designed Roll-Top systems. However, premium technical solutions can make a significant difference.

Some Zulupack® zipper models — such as the Rackham and Fit series — can achieve up to an IP66 waterproof rating. This means they are built to withstand powerful water jets, heavy rain, and extreme weather conditions.

Zulupack® waterproof bags are made from premium technical materials designed to be reliable companions for years of travel, hiking, boating, and everyday use. Proper maintenance not only helps extend the lifespan of your bag, but also preserves its waterproof performance and premium appearance over time.

1. Empty and air out your bag after use

After using your bag in wet, dusty, or muddy environments, always empty it completely, open all pockets, and turn it upside down to allow dust, sand, and moisture to escape.

This is especially important after water sports, hiking, or beach use.

2. Machine washing is not recommended

Zulupack® waterproof bags should not be machine washed.

High temperatures, spinning cycles, and the mechanical stress inside a washing machine may prematurely damage:

• the waterproof coating,
• welded seams,
• technical fabrics,
• and buckles or accessories.

Premium TPU, PVC, and Cordura® materials retain their original properties much longer when cleaned by hand.

3. Rinse with clean water

As a first step, remove dust, sand, salt, or mud by rinsing the bag with clean water.

This is particularly important after exposure to seawater, as salt can gradually damage materials and hardware over time.

4. Clean by hand using lukewarm water and mild soap

For cleaning, use:

• a soft sponge or brush,
• lukewarm water,
• and mild, detergent-free soap.

It is recommended to clean the bag from the inside outward, paying special attention to shoulder straps, the Roll-Top closure area, and frequently used surfaces.

After cleaning, rinse thoroughly again with clean water.

5. Allow the bag to dry naturally

After washing, turn the bag upside down so excess water can drain more easily.

Natural air drying is recommended. Avoid:

• direct sunlight,
• radiators,
• hair dryers,
• and all strong heat sources.

Excessive heat may damage the waterproof coating and reduce the flexibility of the materials.

6. Store in a dry place

Zulupack® bags should be stored in a dry, well-ventilated place, protected from long-term moisture exposure and strong UV radiation.

For best results, store the bag:

• hanging,
• or laid flat.

Proper storage helps maintain the bag’s shape, waterproof performance, and premium appearance over the long term.

Orders are usually delivered within 3–4 business days.

If you place your order on a business day before 10:00 AM, your package will typically be delivered by the courier service on the third business day to your selected address or parcel locker.

For orders placed after 10:00 AM, delivery will generally take place on the fourth business day following the order.

Our goal is to deliver your order as quickly and safely as possible, which is why every Zulupack® order is handled with special care and attention. You will receive email notifications about your shipment and delivery status, allowing you to track your package all the way until delivery.

To make receiving your order as convenient as possible, our webshop offers two different delivery methods.

Whether you prefer fast home delivery or the flexibility of parcel locker pickup, our goal is to ensure that your order arrives in the most convenient and secure way possible.

After your order has been dispatched, you will receive email notifications with shipment updates and tracking information so you can follow your package throughout the delivery process.

Yes. In accordance with applicable Hungarian and European Union consumer protection regulations, private customers purchasing online have the right to withdraw from their purchase without providing a reason within 14 days of receiving the package.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, it is sufficient to notify us within the 14-day period by email or through any clear written statement expressing your intention to return the product. After this notification, the product must be returned to us within an additional 14 days.

Please note the following:

• the product may be inspected and tried out,
• however, the customer may be held responsible for any loss in value resulting from use beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics, and functionality of the product,
• the cost of returning the product is the responsibility of the customer, unless otherwise stated by us.

Once the returned product has been received and inspected, we will refund the purchase amount — including the standard delivery cost — within a maximum of 14 days, using the original payment method whenever possible.
